This Privacy Policy is provided for transparency about how we handle your information. It is not legal advice. BitBootcamp should have qualified counsel review this document before relying on it.
BitBootcamp ("BitBootcamp," "we," "us," "our") is an online AI, machine-learning, and software learning platform at bitbootcamp.com, operated by Hudson Data. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It applies to visitors and account holders worldwide, including in the United States, the European Union / United Kingdom, and India.
1. What we collect and why

2. Cookies & similar technologies
We keep our use of cookies and local storage minimal and function-focused. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The main items are:

Strictly necessary cookies (authentication and security) are required for the Service to work and cannot be switched off from within it. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings, though doing so may sign you out and reset your preferences.
3. How we use your data
- Provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account.
- Authenticate you via email/password, Google or GitHub sign-in, or one-time passcodes.
- Save learning progress, award XP, and personalize your experience.
- Process and manage your BitBootcamp Pro subscription through Stripe.
- Operate the "Share the Love of Learning" referral program.
- Send transactional email (email verification, sign-in codes, receipts, security notices).
- Send optional learning reminders and product/marketing messages you have opted into.
- Prevent fraud and abuse, protect against bots, and keep audit/security logs.
- Comply with legal obligations and understand aggregate product usage to improve BitBootcamp.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract: to create your account, provide the Service, and manage your subscription.
- Consent: for optional WhatsApp/SMS reminders and optional marketing email. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: to secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, maintain audit logs, and improve the product, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation: to meet tax, accounting, and other legal requirements.
5. Authentication providers
You can sign in with email/password, a passwordless email one-time code, or your Google or GitHub account (OAuth). When you use OAuth, we receive basic profile information (such as your name and email) from that provider to create or match your account. We do not receive your Google or GitHub password.
6. Sub-processors & third parties
We share personal data only with service providers ("sub-processors") who process it on our behalf to run the Service, and only as needed for that purpose:

7. International transfers
We and our sub-processors may process your data in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where we transfer personal data out of the EU, UK, or other regions with transfer restrictions, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) or an approved adequacy/certification mechanism offered by the provider.
8. Payments
Subscription payments are handled by Stripe through Stripe-hosted Checkout. Stripe collects and processes your card details directly; we never see or store your full card number. We retain only the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers needed to manage your plan. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.
9. Marketing & reminder communications
We always send transactional messages required to operate your account (for example, email verification, sign-in codes, and receipts). Separately, and only if you opt in, we send optional learning reminders and product/marketing messages by email and, where you provide a phone number, by WhatsApp/SMS. You can opt out at any time: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, reply STOP to a WhatsApp/SMS message, or change your notification settings in your account. We honor opt-out requests and keep a record of consent and withdrawal for compliance.
10. Referral program data
The "Share the Love of Learning" referral program lets Pro users gift one-month passes using single-use codes. When a code is redeemed, we record which account created it and which account redeemed it, forming a friend/connection graph so we can credit inviters (a free month when an invitee becomes a paid subscriber) and prevent abuse. If you redeem a code, the person who invited you may learn that their invitation was accepted. We use this data only to run the program and to detect misuse.
11. Data retention
We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (for example, transaction and tax records, and consent/opt-out logs) to meet legal obligations or to resolve disputes. Security logs are kept only as long as needed for their purpose.
12. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, bot protection via Cloudflare Turnstile, and audit logging. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify affected users and regulators where required by law in the event of a breach.
13. Children's privacy
BitBootcamp is intended for people aged 14 and older (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, if that is higher), and is not directed to younger children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 14. If you believe someone under that age has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data:
- EU / UK (GDPR): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, plus the right to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
- India (DPDP Act): access, correction, erasure, grievance redressal, and the right to nominate another person to exercise your rights.
- California (CCPA/CPRA) and similar US laws: to know, access, delete, correct, and opt out. We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
You can access or update most account data directly in your account settings, and you can delete your account there or by contacting us.
15. How to exercise your rights
To make a request, email [email protected] or [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice (for example, by email or an in-product notice). Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
